Krav Maga is not a traditional form of martial arts. It was developed in an environment where the Israeli military could not devote many hours to hand to hand combat training. Therefore, the Krav Maga system was created to bring students to a high level of skill in a relatively short period of time. There are no forms (katas), rules, or set combinations of reactions to attacks. Instead, Krav Maga training focuses on teaching simple self-defense techniques which are specifically catered to reality based attack situations.
The art of Krav Maga is much more of a survival system dealing with personal safety issues. It is considered to be a modern, highly refined street fighting system, designed to be used against armed and unarmed attackers. Krav Maga addresses a wide variety of aggressive acts which include punches, kicks, chokes, bear hugs, headlocks, grabs, as well as defenses against multiple attackers and assailants armed with a firearm, edged weapon, or blunt object.
The system has had ample opportunity to be tested and improved under real life conditions, proving it self to be an ideal and realistic means of defending oneself in the face of life threatening danger. No defensive tactics program in the world is more battle tested than Krav Maga.
In a comfortable, welcoming, and easy going training environment, students find themselves surrounded with members from all walks of life. Varying from different ages to different shapes and sizes, the Krav Maga training experience is designed for real people who want to learn how to deal with real-life threats and dangers. Combined with partner work and holding drills, a student gets to strike pads, break through barriers and work self-defense scenarios under a controlled but realistic environment. The classes are fun and energetic with a moderate pace and high energy music that gives them a bootcamp feel. Students find a sense of camaraderie within the group and establish incredible self worth. Fostering in each and every student the ability to push through any given obstacle and lead themselves and others to safety is the driving motivation of all of our instructors. Krav Maga is the perfect combination of fitness and self defense that can be used to empower one’s self.
Our Krav Maga Youth Program will give your child all the benefits of traditional martial arts training including but not limited to Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control, Honor and Discipline. Martial Arts have been proven to increase a child’s school performance and help them deal with challenging situations in life, at school, and at home. Krav Maga is not a sport. Therefore, our emphasis is on self-defense. Unfortunately in this society, our children are facing very real world threats everyday. It is our ultimate goal that your child will be able to use their ultimate weapon, his or her brain to get out of the situation. We feel that our program will provide the appropriate self-defense skills and confidence needed so that they can defend themselves, now and in the future. But more importantly, our program will provide the control and understanding to not misuse or abuse the skills they have been given.
